Quaker, Oreo, Perdue Lead Gains In Latest Social, WOM Rankings

Quaker Oats, Oreo and Perdue Chicken logged significant gains in positive consumer conversations in recent months, while Heinz, Pillsbury, Nestle, Kellogg’s and Hershey’s have seen their performance slide.

That’s according to rankings for the six months ended in July from Engagement Labs’s TotalSocial data, which continuously measures the quantity and quality of brands’ social media and face-to-face word-of-mouth.

Looking at the top 10, Quaker took the #1 ranking, jumping seven places in comparison to the first round of these rankings, which were released in March and spanned 12 months ending in January 2017.

While offline conversation about Quaker was stable, the brand’s online conversation performance was boosted by giving its online community “a lot to talk about and share,” says Engagement Labs CEO Ed Keller. News included the brand’s 140th anniversary campaign, the launch of single-serve Overnight Oats (above), and an Overnight Oats meal kit partnership with Chef’d.
